TFM has shut down

Posted in News, Notice on November 19, 2018 by Philip

Ed posted this;

Hello folks. it’s with a heavy heart that I must announce that Troll Forged Miniatures is winding down operations. Our casting services will still be offered by Nick Hanger through his new company Metal Oak Casting Studios, but Troll Forged will soon cease operation as a independent entity.

Over time TF has moved away from being a place that creates its own models and became almost purely a support operation for other casting ventures. The organization required to manage this all has become a burden so I (Ed) have decided to step back from that aspect to go back to molding and sculpting as I’ve always wanted to do from the start.

Our previous obligations from the Alien Assimilation Host kickstarter are being managed by Tom Anders of Impact miniatures for organization and shipping and by Nick for casting so that the project will still be fulfilled. We are currently looking at options to have others host our sculpts so that they are still available to the public.

Thank you again for all your support over the years.

Taking stock

Posted in News on October 4, 2017 by Philip

Now that TFM has a new manager, Nick, and the Kickstarter is finally starting to move forward once more, it’s time to start sorting out the store. Not all the miniatures shown are available, some of the moulds have degraded over time, and we have to think about whether we should remake them based on their earnings, and if we do keep them; move them over to Trollcast (which means new investment in spin cast moulds). While we are sorting through all of this; the store will be in maintenance mode until further notice.

TFM will still be doing contract work during this time, and all contracts will be unaffected by this.

WIP update for our Kickstarter (Assimilation Alien Host);

Ed saysHere is a shot of the metal put together for scale etc. I have to drill out bigger sockets on the metals yet but you get the idea.

I’m super happy with how the metals go together and it’s so easy to put together.

She is big.

KS Update – Alien Hunters

Posted in Kickstarter 1 with tags on December 14, 2013 by Philip

Update for our Kickstarter (Assimilation Alien Host);

Ed saysIan got back to me with some preview shots and 6 of the soldiers are on the way from England here. Soon as they get here I’ll get them into metal masters for production molds he did a great job as usual.

He is working on the dreadnought which is a tricky sculpt as we all know and we discussed the possible idea of him making it with a 3d program for printing. I personally think it’s a good idea as we could scale those for large dreads and subtle changes into smaller power armored suits. He is not comfortable with the program yet however.

That said I’m giving him time to see if he can get it before we make it that far while he is working on the sculpt in traditional methods. Anyway a few preview of finished sculpts.

If you are interested in this Kickstarter, and would like to ‘buy in’ , please visit our Pledge Market.
