TFM has shut down

Posted in News, Notice on November 19, 2018 by Philip

Ed posted this;

Hello folks. it’s with a heavy heart that I must announce that Troll Forged Miniatures is winding down operations. Our casting services will still be offered by Nick Hanger through his new company Metal Oak Casting Studios, but Troll Forged will soon cease operation as a independent entity.

Over time TF has moved away from being a place that creates its own models and became almost purely a support operation for other casting ventures. The organization required to manage this all has become a burden so I (Ed) have decided to step back from that aspect to go back to molding and sculpting as I’ve always wanted to do from the start.

Our previous obligations from the Alien Assimilation Host kickstarter are being managed by Tom Anders of Impact miniatures for organization and shipping and by Nick for casting so that the project will still be fulfilled. We are currently looking at options to have others host our sculpts so that they are still available to the public.

Thank you again for all your support over the years.

Taking stock

Posted in News on October 4, 2017 by Philip

Now that TFM has a new manager, Nick, and the Kickstarter is finally starting to move forward once more, it’s time to start sorting out the store. Not all the miniatures shown are available, some of the moulds have degraded over time, and we have to think about whether we should remake them based on their earnings, and if we do keep them; move them over to Trollcast (which means new investment in spin cast moulds). While we are sorting through all of this; the store will be in maintenance mode until further notice.

TFM will still be doing contract work during this time, and all contracts will be unaffected by this.

Hello everyone,

We’ve put out the Swarm Level survey for our Alien Assimilation Host Kickstarter – update #270. If you are a backer, at Swarm Level, please check your email for the survey. I’ll be contacting non-Kickstarter backers who bought a pledge via PayPal by email in due course.

A few shots of an experimental version of Trollcast (codename ‘smoke’) for use on ‘invisible’ miniatures, insect like alien wings, and anything that needs a nice frosted translucent look.

Pledge Buy Out Market

Posted in News, Notice on October 4, 2013 by Philip

Queen- ready to master - 1Hello all,

We have been asked by a few people if they buy into our Kickstarter.  Some backers, due of unforeseen circumstances, want to sell theirs. So we have set up a special page;

The Pledge Market

On the Pledge Market you can buy pledges that are on offer using PayPal. Each pledge on offer is a one time deal (stock is set to ‘1’) and once sold it is gone for good.

Update on TFM shop

Posted in News on June 28, 2013 by Philip

Just a fast update for those who enjoy the shop coming around etc. We finally got our counter and vent work put in so the fire marshal can come in! I want to stress that none of the money going into the shop has been used from this kickstarter. It helped me get the labor in place which in turn did make the shop happen.

Move completed

Posted in News on May 18, 2013 by Philip

Everything has been moved into the new premises!

Ed says;
Just to check in and tell everyone move is completed. I’m getting fire marshal in next and then permits and we can open but we will not be pushing the retail store sales until the kickstarter is finished for anyone who might be worried.
