Pledge Manager [Prototype]

As you may know I’m working the survey system for our Kickstarter, as the built in Kickstarter survey is not up to the task.

The next stage in this development is the new Pledge Manager – which combines the (never released) Pledge Calc (the top bit) and the prototype Add-On Calc (the bottom bit). Sandwiched in the middle is a space to input the total of all your Trade Slips.

There is still only one ‘Trade Calc‘ page – and that’s for the Queen level, and soon this will be revamped for use with the Pledge Manager. When I have the design and system for the Queen version I sorted out the rest of them.

I’m also looking for a way to post the trade slips directly into the Pledge Manager – unfortunately the ‘textarea’ cannot handle formatting, so I’ll probably use TinyMCE or nicEdit. If this works out the Pledge Manager can spit out a ‘Pledge Slip’ that contains everything, even the trade slips!

Trade Calc – Queen Level

I’m working on making the survey system for our Kickstarter easier to manage for Ed and Brian, and all our Pledgers. Our Kickstarter allows for trades (and specials) which the usual Kickstarter survey cannot handle.

I’ve posted up a prototype ‘Trade Calc‘ page for the Queen level. It allows you to generate a ‘Trade Slip’, for a Queen pledge, which details everything you wish to trade out – and calculate the amount of  credit you get for those trade ins. This ‘Trade-In Credit’ can then be used to buy miniatures at their add-on price (prototype ‘Add-On Calc‘ page).

The Trade Calc page also handles options (currently it shows the Swarm Master variants), so even if you do not trade: you can use it to specify which variant of a multi-variant miniature you wish to have.

I’m also working on a ‘Pledge Calc’ which allows you to manage your pledge in more detail – it handles multiple pledge levels, shipping, specials, and trade-in credit. It will probably be combined with the prototype ‘Add-On Calc’ page, to keep it all together, and will to generate an all in one ‘Pledge slip’.

Eventually you’ll be able to submit these slips directly to Ed – using a custom contact form on this blog. The format of the contact form will include a section to paste in your ‘Pledge Slip’, and several more sections to append all your ‘Trade Slips’. This keeps everything together, in a standard format, which (hopefully) will make everything a bit easier!

Hi all,

Our Kickstarter has been fantastically successful. Now Ed, Brain, and I are working on delivering into reality all those wonderful concepts drawn up by Des Hanley, and sorting out surveys etc. Things are a little hectic at the moment (Ed’s finishing up some more Red Box miniatures, with even more are on schedule for other companies!).

Unfortunately a lot of people couldn’t pledge on Kickstarter for a variety of reasons, and have expressed interest in supporting (and getting there hands on all that loot!).

After a bit of discussion in the comments on Kickstarter, and gathering feedback,  Ed thought there was enough interest for me to pursue some PayPal option outside of Kickstarter using our store cart.

So I created the  Kickstarter PayPal page!

Double checked by our super helpful Pledgers (thanks again!) – it all seems to be there. So grab yourself some insane bargains : the Queen level pledge is the cream of the crop (that went crazy when we hit the higher stretch goals, but Swarm and Host are still fantastic value (indeed the Host Pledge was number one until Stretch goal, um, #8? – it’s still a bit of a blur!)

Kickstarter hits $54K with 1 min to go!

Yes, it’s true, Ed’s Kickstarter pulled in a staggering $54,000. It was a real nail biter, as it went down to the wire; with the last pledges to take us over $54K coming in during the last minute. This unlocked the last stretch goal (14) the Heavy Weapons Team.

Our Assimilation Alien Host Kickstarter has hit $42,000! Unlocking the Carnage Hound –  The carnage hound is a massive, bloated, muscled beast. It requires a 80mm base. The creature has grown massive eating and absorbing alien DNA from many variations of creatures. The bursts of speed from the creature are surprising due to it’s size.

Sixth stretch goal unlocked!

Our Assimilation Alien Host Kickstarter has hit $27,000! Unlocking the Swarm Adult Warrior as an add-on. Previously the Swarm Adult Warrior was exclusive to the Queen pledge level, now it is available to all pledge levels. The Queen pledge level now includes 15 of these fearsome Warriors.

Add-ons: The stretch goal also unlocks the Egg Nest (20 eggs for $15), and the Swarm Adult Warrior for $4 each.

Free stuff: These pledge levels receive more free miniatures;

• All pledge levels: a free 40mm egg base (insert and base).
• The Collector level ($25+): +1 Hound.
• The Host level ($50+): + 1 Wyrm.
• The Swarm level ($110+): +1 Fiend.
• The Queen level ($200+): +5 more Swarm Adult Warriors (for a total of 15).

The Dreadnought add-on gains ranged firepower, we have now unlocked the pump gun, flamer, ion blaster, and the grenade launcher. There is no addition cost.
